I don't know if I'm the only one who finds that the 8 pm touney takes to long to finish (some tables are unusually slow). How about a time limit per game? How about allowing hands to be passed out?

Over the years we have talked about some tournaments taking too long to complete. There are a few things that can cause a time problem. In the end it is mostly the players themselves

1) Not following or reading the Instructions that are listed in plain English
2) People chatting in the game or on msn.
3) Slow computers and Internet delay the game

I use to have a time delay in the game when tournaments were first released.
It worked, but i got emails complaining that they didnt like it.

I had point reductions for game delays and too much delay then it would boot you. Problem was that the #1 thing i listed was people dont read or follow instructions so by the time they got into their proper room they were getting point reductions and or booted. People would go for a smoke o take a pee break and when they came back they had point reductions or were booted from the server.

And the #1 reason having a time restriction on the games doesnt work:

The winning team would just delay and play slower so that the loosing team wouldnt be able to get points.
So why solve 1 problem just to create another?

My solution: Players need  to understand how the tournament works and play accordingly.

what does "How about allowing hands to be passed out?" this mean?

I was thinking that if it were allowed to throw hands in (4 passes means hand is over) then such hands would take very little time. Besides it would force players to bid instead of bushwhack.

I THINK AFTER YOU HAVE PLAYED YOUR 3 GAMES IN THE 8 PM TOURNEY YOU SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE AND CHECK YOUR STATS LATER WHEN THE TOURNEY IS FINISHED....
